Further financial help secured for Hillhead Tenants We are delighted to announce that our welfare rights team has secured further funding from the National Lottery and from Employers in Voluntary Housing to support our local community as we start 2023. We now have received funding of £32,500 and will shortly be distributing it in line with the conditions of grant. Our EVH award of £2,500 will enable us to assist those tenants who fall through gaps in the current social security network and who perhaps are not eligible for statutory hardship funding support from DWP and the local Council. The two awards from The National Lottery include £20,000 from the Community Anchor Fund and £10,000 from the Awards for All fund. Together this fund will enable us to continue to offer direct financial support in the form of energy vouchers, shopping vouchers etc to meet emergency, immediate and short term needs of our tenants. In 2022 we were successful in obtaining £38,204 support from a variety of funders which allowed us to support over 210 families and individuals as well as giving financial support to a number of other local organisations. The funding has meant that we have been able to provide very practical help such as winter duvets, draught excluders on top of emergency food and fuel vouchers. We have received much positive feedback from recipients of this help and it’s heartening to know just how much tenants appreciate the support from their local housing association. “It was really good to have this help in these hard times, Hillhead housing was there to help when needed.” “I am extremely grateful for the warmer duvet and the vouchers.
